2012 London Olympics

Held from July 27 to August 12, 2012, the London 2012 Olympic Games welcomed 8.8 million ticketed spectators over a 17-day period, making it one of the most attended Olympic Games in history. The event transformed East London into a global stage, with the Olympic Park serving as a highly complex, multi-venue environment requiring seamless coordination between design, operations, security, and guest services.

ProFun’s involvement in the London 2012 Games was in collaboration with Thinkwell Design Group during the planning phase. Our team conducted an integrated operational analysis of the Olympic Park, reviewing the various elements developed by multiple stakeholders and assessing them as a cohesive whole from the spectator’s perspective. The scope focused on evaluating guest flow, operational functionality, and experiential impact—identifying where operational plans supported or constrained the intended visitor experience. Our contribution helped align the design vision with practical operational execution at an unprecedented scale.
